About Us
Mikayla Peters
While earning my Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Mississippi, I entered the world of teaching at Clarksdale High School. There, I developed a passion for teaching students, especially those struggling with reading and writing, and that passion led me to my husband, Victor. Together, we began our journey to South Korea to teach at Valor International Scholars while both simultaneously pursuing a Master of Education in IB learning. I currently teach ELL and English Literature to middle and high school students at Valor International Scholars in Anseong, South Korea.

With a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics, I did not start out to become a teacher. I had tutored physics and math in LA, where I grew up. After many jobs in various fields, I joined Teach for America (TFA) and was placed in Clarksdale, Mississippi as a high-school math teacher. There, I met my wife, and things sort of exploded. Within two years, we were engaged, married, and moving across the world to teach in South Korea. I am finishing up my Master of Education in Advanced Teaching at the University of the People, focusing on IB learning for students of all ages while I teach geometry to middle and high school students at Valor International Scholars.
